Washington County Solid Waste

Cedar City Recycling

The Washington County Solid Waste District is continually working to build the recycling resources of southern Utah. The Washington County Recycling Program has teamed up with Cedar City to extend Binnie sites to Cedar City residents. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Cedar City on August 25th, 2010. In attendance were Cedar City Mayor Joe Burgess and St. George City Mayor Dan McArthur. Mayor McArthur extended a helping hand as a long time board member of the Washington County Solid Waste District and Mayor Burgess shared his gratitude for the partnership and his excitement for future possibilities.

The first pickup of recyclables was Tuesday, August 31, 2010. We collected over 7000 lbs of paper and plastic after one week’s length of time from setting up the Binnie sites. Congratulations. We are off to a great start!

Cedar City has 6 locations strategically placed throughout the city.

For information on what to place in the Binnies, please print out a Recycling Chart for your home or office. Place this chart on your refrigerator or next to your containers to remind your household and guests of what to place in your recycling bins.
